On March 24, 2007, the North Tempe Neighborhood Association, the Sheriff’s chain gang, Keep Phoenix Beautiful and citizens linked up to clean up the county island that borders Tempe, where the 202 Freeway and Rural Road intersect. This was the sixth annual effort coordinated by Maricopa County Supervisor Fulton Brock, Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
District 1 Maricopa County Supervisor, Fulton Brock, this year’s Chairman of the Board, has made cleaning up litter one of his priorities for the county this year. “This is one of many clean-ups our office has spearheaded throughout the past decade,” he says. “We want to encourage everyone to look after their neighborhoods. Come join us.”
