National Family Volunteer Day
(Maricopa County) Now that the ghouls and goblins have been laid to rest for another year, shoppers are heading to the malls in search of great deals. However, before getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, why not take a deep breath and make time for a community act of service with your family?
The staff at White Tank Mountain Regional Park invites you to join them on Saturday, November 16 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. for a Family Volunteer Day in the park. Family Volunteer Day is held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to kick-off the holiday season with giving and service.
The park, in partnership with the Conservation Alliance, will host families and individual volunteers for a day of service painting project. Children age eight-and-up are permitted to help with a parent or guardian on-site to supervise.
All tools, supplies, snack and water will be provided by the Conservation Alliance; however, participants are encouraged to bring a bottle of water.
Please come dressed to get messy as well as work in the outdoors. Closed toe shoes, comfortable clothing and sun protection are important to have an enjoyable day.
White Tank Mountain Regional Park is located at 20304 W. White Tank Mountain Road in Waddell. For additional information about the project, contact Kim at (602) 525-3004 or via email at RichardK@mail.maricopa.gov.
