Low-Cost or Free Pet Vaccinations
(PHOENIX – March 14) Maricopa County Animal Care and Control believes in reducing the pet overpopulation within Maricopa County. On Saturday, March 16, and on Sunday, March 17, MCACC will have the Neuter Scooter on site at the PetSmart Charities Phoenix Adoption Event to provide FREE Spay and Neuter for pet owners. Check-in will start at 7am and it will be on a first come, first service basis. If pet owners are unable to get their pets on board for a free spay or neuter there will be Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) voucher applications available. Pet owners can fill out the applications and mail it to the address on the application. They will receive a voucher in the mail and these SNAP vouchers can be used at over 70 clinics within the county providing pet sterilizations. A complete listing of area clinics accepting the SNAP vouchers will be included with the voucher.
In addition to providing free spay and neuter, MCACC will also have a free rabies vaccination clinic and $10 pet microchips at the charity adoption event on Saturday, March 16, from 10am to 5pm and on March 17 from 10am to 4pm. The PetSmart Charities Phoenix Adoption Event will take place at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, located at 1826 West McDowell Road in Phoenix.
"Petsmart is and has been a terrific and caring partner with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control," said Maricopa County Supervisors’ Chairman Andy Kunasek. "We hope pet owners will take advantage of these free county services."
