BOUNTIFUL CELEBRATION OF FOOD DAY
In honor of Food Day, celebrated annually on October 24, the Department of Health Services will team up with other agencies and organizations to host a “Phoenix Real Food Tour.” Food Day highlights a national movement to provide more healthy, affordable and sustainable food in our country – improving the American diet while working to reduce hunger nationwide.
The day kicks off at the Orchard Community Learning Center. The Center is a community school and a working farm that provides hands on education, resources and partnerships to promote healthy lifestyles in South Phoenix.

The Maricopa County Department of Public Health Office of Nutrition Services, the Orchard Community Learning Center Garden, Tiger Mountain Foundation, Central Farmers’ Market and the Arizona Department of Education are working with ADHS to conduct the Food Tour.
Additional Tour Activities:
· 2:00PM: Tiger Mountain Foundations’ Garden of Tomorrow. The garden visit will include a tour, music by local musicians, and a talk with Darren Chapman.
· 3:30PM: Central Farmers’ Market. The Market visit will include opportunities to shop for local produce and other agricultural products, food demonstrations, seminars by local farms, and more.
