This week is National Influenza Vaccination Week from December 4 - 10.
Flu activity peaks around January or February in the United States, and can last as late as May so it is important to get the vaccine now if you haven’t already.
The CDC recommends a yearly influenza vaccination for all persons 6 months of age and older. It will take about two weeks for the body’s immune response to fully kick in once vaccinated.
With the holiday season bringing family and friends together, it is especially important to arm yourself with the right protection so you can protect the ones you love. For more information, visit our Influenza site at http://www.maricopa.gov/publichealth/Programs/Flu/default.aspx and visit www.StoptheSpreadaz.com for statewide flu information.
