The holiday shopping season has begun. Skip the crowds at the mall. Come to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) and find yourself something better: a lifetime of companionship and love. MCACC still has close to 1,000 dogs and cats in its care. Half of them are ready for a new home right now.
If you have been thinking about adding to your family, now is a perfect time to adopt. MCACC is offering a Black Furday Adoption Special. This Friday, Saturday and Sunday (November 25 – 27), any adoptable animal is available for the lowest price of the season: $17 for dogs, puppies, and kittens. Cats over 1 year are free. That includes spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, and a dog license if over the age of three months.
If you can’t adopt, but do want to help, please spay or neuter your pets and help us lower the number of homeless animals in Maricopa County. Another way to help is by becoming a foster family. Fostering is a temporary placement of our homeless animals which saves their life. We are always in need of people who want to open their homes and their hearts to our animals. Foster families care for puppies and kittens not yet old enough to be placed up for adoption and dogs or cats recovering from medical or behavior issues.
Andy Kunasek, Chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, urges the community to think about adoption. “Dogs and cats have so much love to offer. They make great companions,” he said. “You will also be saving a life when you adopt from a shelter.”
So hurry in today and add a new member to your household. For more information on MCACC, visit www.pets.maricopa.gov or call (602) 506-7387.
