Public involvement is key to ensuring responsible development. The Planning and Development Department achieves public involvement in three ways.
First, we have several Boards and Commissions comprised of County residents who advise the Board of Supervisors on a number of planning and building
issues. Secondly, the voice of residents, either in support or opposition, to various development proposals at public meetings ensures the surrounding
community is integral to the decision-making process. Finally, the department holds meetings with communities and/or key stakeholders to discuss various
issues relating to long-term planning and various public policy decisions.
