MCACC offers a variety of services to the community including:
- Adoption programs to place cats and dogs in loving homes
- Rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats
- Dog licenses
- Spay and Neuter programs to prevent more unwanted animals
- Shelter for lost and stray animals
- Pick up of stray dogs
Adoption fees range from $50 - $150. It allows us to care for and place animals that we take in. For more details, go to our adoption page
or call (602) 506-PETS (7387).
MCACC takes in over 46,000 dogs and cats each year. A lost dog with a current license (or cat with an ID tag) has a very good chance of being returned home. If your pet has been lost, please visit one of our centers. If your pet is turned into one of our Centers, you will be charged a fee based on the services we provide. Your fee may include impound, boarding, quarantine, or dog license.
All dogs over the age of three months need to be licensed in Maricopa County. A dog license also helps to bring your dog back to you if he gets lost. Please see our licensing section
for more information and fees.
Vaccines are an extremely important part of keeping your pet healthy. All dogs over the age of three months are required to be vaccinated for rabies. All cats over the age of four months should be vaccinated against rabies as well. Please see our vaccination section
for more information and to learn more about rabies and what we offer.
MCACC believes strongly in reducing the pet overpopulation problem. We encourage pet owners to spay or neuter their pets to help control this problem. Please see our Spay/Neuter section
for more information on the programs we offer.
MCACC accepts owned dogs and cats at the West Valley Animal Care Center on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The East Valley Animal Care Center accepts owned dogs and cats on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Pets must be surrendered by their legal owners. There is a $51 fee to surrender your pet to MCACC.
MCACC offers microchips for all dogs and cats in Maricopa County. Microchips store owner information. If your dog or cat gets loose, it’s another way to ensure he or she will get returned to you. All lost pets are scanned for a microchip. Unlike a license or id tag, which can fall or be taken off, a microchip is always with your pet.
