Usery Mountain Regional Park Seeks Public Input on Proposed Access Point and Connector Trail
(Maricopa County) The Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department is currently considering the addition of an access gate and connector trail from the Boulder Mountain residential community into Usery Mountain Regional Park.
“There is an opportunity to enhance access and add a connector trail in Usery Mountain Park, thanks to a generous offer from the Boulder Mountain Home Owners Association to fund the project,” said District 2 Maricopa County Supervisor Steve Chucri. “Private donations are vital to the health of the Parks and Recreation Department and I look forward to the public’s evaluation of the proposed additions to the park.”
To establish the level of public interest for the access point and connector trail, the department is currently soliciting feedback from neighboring communities and park visitors via a brief online survey which may be accessed at www.maricopa.gov/parks/usery/.
Individuals who do not have access to a computer and require a hard copy of the survey and project map may request one by contacting Leigh at (602) 506-8941 or by visiting the parks’ nature center.
Surveys will be accepted until 5 p.m. on June 4, 2013. Once the process has been completed, feedback will be reviewed and a decision on the project will be posted on the department’s website. Usery Mountain Regional Park is located at 3939 N. Usery Pass Road in Mesa. To learn more about the project, or Maricopa County’s Regional Park system, visit www.maricopa.gov/parks or contact
