FIRE BAN CURRENTLY IN PLACE...
The fire ban includes the use of campfires, fire pits and charcoal grills; however, it is still acceptable to use gas/propane grills in designated areas such as the ramada areas, semi-developed and developed camping sites and along the shoreline at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. If necessary, additional details will be posted on park specific pages under the "Alert" section in the upper right hand corner of the page.
A date to lift the fire ban has not been identified and will be determined by the amount of rain
Maricopa County receives during the monsoon season.

Hunting
Per the 2012-13 Arizona Hunting and Trapping Regulations, the following parks in Maricopa County are open to hunting using shotgun shooting shot when the season coincides with a quail season:
Hunting in parks opened by the Commission Order is not permitted within 1/4 mile of any developed picnic area, developed campground, shooting range, occupied building, boat ramp, or golf course.
At this time, the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department is in the process of updating its hunting maps to be in compliance with the Arizona Game and Fish Department's hunting regulations. Once the maps are updated, they will be made available. Please note that hunting is NOT allowed in the following parks:
- Adobe Dam Regional Park
- Buckeye Hills Regional Park
- Cave Creek Regional Park
- Desert Outdoor Center at Lake Pleasant
- San Tan Mountain Regional Park
- Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
- Usery Mountain Regional Park
