| Blue Moon Full Moon Hike - McDowell |
| McDowell Mountain Regional Park |
| Two full moons in one month? Yes, please! Tonight's moon is called the "Blue Moon" not because of its color, but because two full moons in one calendar month only happens about every 2.5 years. We'll celebrate this one by hiking by its light to Pemberton Pond. Flashlights are not necessary, but permitted. Bring plenty of water and sturdy shoes. Hiking time is 2 hours, and 3 miles. No pets please. Hikes begin at the Trailhead Staging area. Moonlit hike programs are free with $6/vehicle entry to the Park.
Directions to the Meeting Location:
As you enter the park, drive through the pay station, go about 3 miles—look for the small Visitor Center on your right. The next possible right after the Visitor Center is SHALLMO Drive. Take this right, and drive all the way to the end of the road. We meet there in the parking lot. |
