When complete, the Maricopa Trail will be approximately 375-miles long, winding around the Valley connecting all of Maricopa County’s regional parks. Currently, the Maricopa Trail is nearly fifty percent built and a few of the completed segments need the help of some awesome volunteers to clean-up and clear the pathway of rocks and tripping hazards.
This will be a fun, three-hour combined group event being celebrated by five great organizations with outstanding records of working to help to maintain and preserve the natural environment and recreational trails: Conservation Alliance of Central Arizona, Maricopa County’s Parks and Recreation Department, the Maricopa Trail + Park Foundation, Arizona Forward, and the Arizona Trail Association.
There is approximately three-miles of trail work so please wear appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes, hats, sun screen, and work gloves. If you have a rake, shovel, or McLeod, please bring it. We will also have some trail tools on site for you to use. We encourage youth involvement, and pets on leashes are welcome. The work site is off the Carefree Highway just west of I-17, near the Ben Avery Shooting Range.
