FIRE BAN INFORMATION
Effective
Tuesday, May 27, 2014 through Friday, August 29, 2014
Maricopa County's regional parks will initiate the annual fire ban. This includes banning the use of all
campfire, fire pits and charcoal grills; however, it is still acceptable to use gas/propane grills in designated areas such as the ramada areas, semi-developed and developed camping sites, and along the shoreline at Lake Pleasant Regional Park.
If the parks do not receive ample rain during the monsoon season, the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department
may extend the fire ban to protect the parks resources and ensure visitor safety. To learn more, click here.

Pleasant Paddlers Program - Eagle Watch Long Paddle of the Agua Fria - Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
We will be paddling back in the Agua Fria arm watching bald eagles and other wildlife. This paddle is for those who are very hardy, the distance is around 16 miles total. You must have your own paddle craft, there are no rentals at the 4-lane area. You must wear your life vest when on the water! Bring plenty of water and food. Dress for the temperature and also take extra dry clothes in your dry bag. Bring a flashlight just in case you need it to finish or pack your car at the end. The paddle route may be changed if wind conditions are not ideal for safe passage. Bring cameras and binoculars for capturing the wildlife. This may be the last chance to see the eagles in the Agua Fria this year, as they close this area on December 15th.
