Full Egg Moon Hike and live OWL Encounter - McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Join Ranger Amy and Liberty Wildlife to experience the desert “come alive” by the light of the moon at McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Liberty Wildlife will be here at the beginning of the hike (6:30-7pm) with live owls to talk about these beautiful nighttime creatures. The hike, immediately following, will be 2 1/2 hours in length. Liberty will be accepting donations at this event of toilet paper, wild bird seed, and dry dog or cat food, to help them stock up for the upcoming bird season! Flashlights are not necessary, but permitted. Bring plenty of water and sturdy shoes. Hiking time is 2 1/2 hours, and 3 miles. No pets please. Children should be comfortable hiking 3 miles. Hikes begin at the Trailhead Staging area. Moonlit hike programs are free with $6/vehicle entry to the Park.
