Our Responses...
Since 1996, the Government Performance Project (GPP)
has rated the management capacity of local and state governments and selected federal agencies in the United States. The project has been funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts and is currently a significant activity for the Pew Center on the States (PCS). The project is a collaborative one between PCS staffers, journalists at Governing magazine and academics at institutions like The George Washington University, Georgia State, Lynchburg College and University of Illinois. The GPP is a comprehensive review of the effectiveness of core government management activities. For the 2002 GPP, Maricopa County was selected to be reviewed and graded. The evaluations were divided into six categories. To view our responses returned in the GPP survey, click a category of interest.
