Did you know that stormwater runoff is one of the leading causes of water pollution in the United States? The goal of Maricopa County's Stormwater Quality Program is to address urban runoff to reduce and potentially eliminate the amount of pollutants entering our main waterbodies. A Stormwater Management Program that incorporates Best Management Practices associated with six (6) Minimum Control Measures has been implemented in order to fulfill state permitting requirements: Public Education and Outreach, Public Participation and Involvement, Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination, Construction Site Runoff Control Post-Construction Runoff Control, and Pollution Prevention/Good Housekeeping for Municipal Operations.
