Bike to Work Day Registration
The 9th Annual Bike to Work Day & BFIT Event
Tuesday, April 22, 2014
Registration has closed

Please join Maricopa County, the City of Phoenix, and Olympic Gold Medalist Misty Hyman in the 9th Annual Bike to Work Day event. County and city elected officials will host a four-mile bicycle ride and light breakfast in downtown Phoenix with the goal of inspiring citizens to increase their fitness and decrease pollution. Everyone is welcome to join the ride regardless of their bicycle-riding experience and fitness level.

Participants may choose to bicycle with a large police-escorted group from Park Central Mall to CityScape or simply bicycle directly to CityScape. Park Central Mall is located at 3100 N. Central Ave. in mid-town Phoenix. CityScape is located at 1 E. Washington St.

This is a "green" event so all bicyclists are encouraged to bring their own water bottles. Water for refilling bottles will be available at Park Central and CityScape. Please consider additional green tips such as: Cycling as little as 20 miles a week can cut your risk of heart disease by more than half, and avoiding just 10 miles of driving every week would eliminate 500 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions a year!

Registered participants will receive a t-shirt and are eligible to enter a raffle for exciting prizes. Participants are also invited to a light breakfast from Chloe's Corner, and CityScape will have bicycle racks for guests to park and lock their bikes while they enjoy their breakfast. While supplies last, free bagels will be available to all other "Bike to Work Day" guests visiting CityScape.

In honor of the competitive spirit of the 2014 Olympics, Maricopa County, the City of Phoenix, and Olympian Misty Hyman are challenging public and private agencies to compete for the highest number of registered participants. The first, second and third place team will receive a Gold, Silver and Bronze memento for their achievements.

Everyone is invited to visit CityScape to hear the speeches, cheer on the riders, and support the bicycle community. Community volunteers will be on hand to promote health, fitness, safety, bicycle commuting, clean air, and more!

Come out and join us. Cheer on the bicycle riders and check out the cool bikes. Be inspired to ride!
