It has some elevation so be sure you are ready for this start of the hiking season trail. We'll return on a flat trail that was a stagecoach route to the Butterfield Overland Stage that ran just south of the Estrella Mountains. Follow signs to trail east of the Rodeo Arena. |

Class limit 25 people – you must RSVP to attend – no walk ins
Learn how to create and actually make an herb container garden for yourself or to give as gifts for the holiday. This hands-on class will show you and have you planting herbs in a container or pot that you bring. We will supply the soil (properly amended) and 3 herb plants per person.
Herbs are so easy to grow here and have many uses. We’ll cover the use of herbs and preserving herbs in detail. There will even be a sweet treat made from herbs to sample. Come learn how to enhance your success to have an herb garden that will be the envy of the neighborhood and use fresh or dried herbs in cooking and other ways in your home.
Maya will also give a tour of her farm and share how she works a production farm on just over one acre that supplies food to 25 restaurants, a CSA and several farmers markets.
The class fee ($25) includes materials ($10) to make your container garden. You will get the amended soil (and learn the secret recipe) and 3 herb plants. You must bring a pot or container. Just be sure you can carry it home when it is filled with herbs and soil!
You must RSVP for this class so we know how much material to have on-hand. Class limit is 25 people. |

| Come explore one of the secrets of Lake Pleasant Park. Morgan City wash is a lush area with small creeks. We will explore this lush riparian area and maybe spot some wildlife. The hike is four miles and will take about three hours. Wear hiking shoes that might get wet. Bring some water and a snack for our mid-hike break. The hike is moderate with one long hill at the end. Just show up, no need to call, unless you have questions. Look for the "Hike" Signs once inside the park, and meet Frank across from the 10-lane boat launch parking area (Look for the "Hike" sign). |
