Desert Wash Hike at White Tank Park
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
1.5 miles total. Some rock hopping and climbing. The desert washes are critical to the well being of the desert. They provide shelter for the inhabitants, channel storm runoff and reveal a cutaway view of the geology of the area. Join the staff on a walk through one of the Park’s more interesting washes. There is some rock hopping and climbing on this one and most of the walk is in sand so it can be a little too strenuous for small children and those with physical limitations. Plan accordingly. No dogs on this hike please. Meet near the Area 9 rest room at 9:00 am.
