This is a non-interpretive briskly paced walk along Wagner and Stoneman Wash trails will get those muscles moving again and enable you to "check the candy" with no guilt! Novices are welcome! Meet at Wagner Trailhead.

Discovering Desert Edibles Walk - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
How have people survived off the land for thousands of years? Which desert plants are edible and when are they edible? If you would like to know the answers to these questions, or any questions you may have about desert edibles, then this one-hour walk is for you! Join Ranger B on this one-mile stroll along the Merkle Trail as he shares some useful facts about our edible desert plants. The well-manicured Merkle Trail offers universal access and the hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Please bring water. Meet at Area 6.

"Just for Kids" - Story Time in the Desert - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Young children (including parents and grandparents) will learn about our desert through fun stories and games inside the comfort of our new Nature Center. Great views of the desert from our story room will enhance their experience. A cute story about a bat named Stellaluna will kick-off the Halloween weekend. Feel free to bring your favorite mat, blanket, or pillow for added comfort. Families meet at the Nature Center.

What creepy crawlies are scouring the desert floor around Halloween? Come to Cave Creek Park to find out as we meet some of these desert floor dwellers. Scorpions, snakes and spiders – oh my! After meeting these critters we will head out into the park and see if we can find them in their own habitat. Bring water and sturdy shoes.

The Third Annual Halloween Bash at White Tank Park – The ultimate kids party with games, snacks, a haunted trail, goodies and anything else we can come up with to make Halloween great for kids. Come enjoy the evening in a safe environment. All children must be accompanied by at least one well behaved adult. We will hold this in our Group Campground area which is 3 miles into the Park

Full Moon And Bats Hike-Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Join us to learn about these children of the night. Will they fly into your window at night and alight on your pillow with evil intent? Will they drink your blood? Will they transform themselves into the Dark Prince? On the eve before Halloween we will reveal the truth! Warning!: Some hikers WILL turn in to bats before the night is over! Bat poster to anyone dressed as a Transylvanian Count. Bring water (or a sanguine refreshment), flashlights, but no mirrors! for this 3 mile rugged, slight elevation hike. Follow signs to the Toothaker Trailhead.
