| We are heading into the cooler weather and time to start getting in shape! We will enjoy the amazing views of Cave Creek Regional Park while we keep our legs moving and our hearts pumping on this moderate 3.5 mile hike. Along the way you will get to know some other hikers and receive some great tips on general fitness and hiking gear from Ranger Jim. Remember, always bring plenty of water and wear sturdy shoes or boots.
*This hike will be every Thursday in October to help you get into a routine. |

| Four Day Workshop for Cities and Towns |
| Air Quality |
This four day workshop will be an intense, comprehensive overview of Maricopa County Air Quality Department rules and ordinances pertaining to dust. It will also include discussion on SB 1552 requirements. There will be ample opportunity to discuss issues and concerns of the cities and towns. Air Quality Director Lawrence Odle and varoius divison heads will open the workshop.
October 26th & 27th will be classroom discussion. October 28th will be field work with each participant doing a ride-along with an inspector. October 29th will be a wrap-up and policy interpretation discussion.
This first four day workshop will be limited to 15 participants. Only one representative per city/town is recommended. Please RSVP to Frank Schinzel.

With the days cooling off, here is a nice way to enjoy the lake. If you have your own paddle craft, join us at the four-lane boat ramp between 7AM and 8AM. We will load boats onto the parks large flat boat for a shuttle to the back of the Agua Fria Arm. After we off load the boats we will paddle all the way back to the four-lane boat ramp. This will be about an eight mile paddle. Come prepared with snacks and water. If you need to rent a kayak you can contact Scorpion Bay Marina at 928-501-7368. They are located about two miles south of the four-lane ramp, so you will want to start out at 7AM from Scorpion Bay and paddle up the shoreline to the four-lane boat ramp, where we will take off at 8AM. |
