Deadline to Respond to the Dependent Verification Audit is August 30, 2016
ADP is currently conducting a Dependent Verification Audit to validate that dependents who were added to benefits coverage during the County’s recent Open Enrollment period are eligible to participate in the County’s benefit plans.
- DOES APPLY to employees who added dependents to coverage (medical, vision, and/or dental) for Plan Year 2016-2017 and whose dependents did not have coverage or were not approved as eligible for coverage for Plan Year 2015-2016.
- DOES NOT APPLY to employees who added dependents to coverage (medical, vision, and/or dental) for Plan Year 2016-2017 and whose dependents were covered for Plan Year 2015-2016.
Letters were mailed to employees’ homes in late June. The consequences of NOT responding to the audit by the deadline, August 30, 2016, are:
- Dependents will be dropped from coverage retroactively to July 1, 2016.
- Employees will be held financially responsible for claims paid for dependents who are not approved as eligible for coverage.
- Employees will not have the option to re-add their dependents to coverage until next year, July 1, 2017. There are no exceptions.
To prevent having dependents dropped from coverage, employees should immediately respond to the audit letter by taking these three steps:
- Gather the documentation requested in the audit letter.
- Fax, mail, or upload the documentation to ADP using the Cover Sheet provided in the letter.
- Submit the documentation by August 30, 2016.
For questions regarding the Dependent Verification process, please contact the Maricopa County Employee Benefits Division at (602) 506-1010.
Important Information About Your August 10 Paycheck
Benefit premium deductions are based on pay period end dates, not pay dates. This means that months with three pay period end dates will not have benefits-related premium deductions taken on the paycheck that corresponds with the third pay period end date.
There were three pay period end dates in July: July 3, 17, and 31. For this reason, your August 10, 2016 paycheck (which is for the pay period that ended July 31) will not have benefit premium deductions taken. This includes contributions to a health savings account and flexible spending accounts, and deductions to pay down any benefit premium arrears balance you may owe.
Diabetes Management Program
Starting July 1, 2016 a Diabetes Management Program will be available to employees and dependents who are enrolled in the County-sponsored Cigna HMO or UnitedHealthcare PPO medical plans. Watch this presentation if you are either currently participating in the program or are interested in learning more about this benefit.
Benefits and Wellness Orientation for Newly Benefits-Eligible Employees
In addition to the County’s New Employee Orientation (NEO) hosted by Employee Development, new hires and newly benefits-eligible employees have the opportunity to attend a presentation that features important Benefits and Wellness information.
The purpose of this monthly presentation IS NOT to replace the County’s NEO, but rather to accommodate the Courts and/or elected offices that typically conduct their own NEO. It starts at 9:30 am at the Administration Building 301 W. Jefferson St., in Test Rooms A & B. For their convenience, employees will be able to complete a Biometric Screening and Saliva test onsite at the end of the presentation.
Click here for the complete 2016 Benefits and Wellness presentation schedule. Department Liaisons will need to submit a Benefits and Wellness Presentation Registration Request with the employee’s name, and department to enroll their new or newly benefits-eligible employee(s) in a Benefits and Wellness presentation. The registration request must be completed and sent to the Employee Benefits Division either via e-mail at email@example.com or via fax at 602-506-2354 NO LATER THAN NOON on the THURSDAY PRIOR to a scheduled Benefits and Wellness presentation. The Benefits and Wellness Registration Form is only to be used to register for the Benefits and Wellness presentation. If the employee will be attending the regular County NEO, continue to use the current registration process.
Get a Healthy Start with A Healthy Pregnancy Program
One of the best things you can do at the start of your pregnancy is to enroll in your healthcare provider’s Healthy Pregnancy Program. Once you enroll you can connect telephonically with a nurse 24 hours a day to address your questions or talk over any concerns you may have. You will also learn and practice healthy pregnancy habits and protect the well-being of your baby, and you can get rewarded for doing so.
If you are enrolled in a County-sponsored medical plan, you will receive an incentive when you participate and complete either Cigna’s or UnitedHealthcare’s Healthy Pregnancy Program. This year the incentives have increased, you can earn a $500 incentive if you enroll in the program before the end of your first trimester, or $250 if you enroll before the end of your second trimester.
To enroll call either:
