Draft Self-Reporting Policy
The Maricopa County Air Quality Department has scheduled a public workshop to discuss a proposed Self-Reporting Policy on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 1:30 pm in the 9th Floor Classroom at 1001 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85004. Written comments on the proposed policy will be accepted until Friday, September 14, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
The purpose of the proposed policy is to encourage greater compliance with Maricopa County Air Pollution Control Rules and Regulations. It promotes a higher standard of self-policing by providing mitigation of all or a portion of the civil penalties for violations that are voluntarily discovered and promptly disclosed and corrected. The proposed policy is consistent with the Arizona Revised Statutes Title 49 Chapter 10 Environmental Audit Privilege.
