Title V Process Improvement Discussion

Maricopa County Air Quality Department has been engaged in a series of process improvement efforts over the past three years which have been very helpful in identifying issues requiring attention. Goals include: Improving service delivery; reducing bureaucratic procedures; and creating a culture of continuous improvement department-wide. This meeting will provide an opportunity to consider the Title V compliance and enforcement program within the context of the process improvement framework. Envisioned is a process to share issues identified through a recently conducted internal effort focused on Title V and to gather, from Title V permit holders and other interested parties, thoughts or concerns that might be appropriate for improvement.

The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments from the public for the proposed air quality permit. Comments should address whether the proposed permit meets the criteria for issuance in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes §§§ 49-426, 49-427 and 49-480. Members of the public may comment in person through either oral statements to a court reporter or through written statements. Written comments shall state the name and mailing address of the person making comment and be signed by that person or authorized agent or attorney. Interpreters will be made available upon request with 72 hours’ notice. Additional reasonable accommodations will be made available to the extent possible within the time frame of the request. In addition to providing oral or written comments at the hearing, any person may submit written comments to the department at its address above provided they are received no later than Friday, March 28, 2014, 5:00 p.m.
