Rule 310 Training

Maricopa County Rule 310; Section 309 requires that a site superintendent or other designated on-site representative of the permit holder present on sites that have more than one acre of disturbed surface area shall have successfully completed the Basic Dust Control Training class, as described in Section 309.1 of the same rule.

Maricopa County Rule 310; Section 309 also requires that all water truck and water-pull drivers at any site subject to a permit under this rule shall have successfully completed the Basic Dust Control Training class, as described in Section 309.1 of the same rule.

Maricopa County Rule 310 Section 310.6 requires that any site of five acres or more of disturbed surface area subject to a permit under this rule shall, at all times during primary dust-generating operations related to the purposes for which the Dust Control permit was obtained, have on site at least one individual designated by the permit holder as a Dust Control Coordinator. The Dust Control Coordinator shall have successfully completed the Comprehensive Dust Control Training class, as described in Section 310.2-310.6 of the same rule.

The following Rule 310 Dust Control Training classes have been scheduled:

All classes are to be held at 1001 N Central Ave, Suite 900, Phoenix 85004. Basic classes are approximately 3.5 hours in length, with a class fee of $50. Comprehensive classes are approximately 6 hours in length, with a class fee of $125. Credit card payments and company checks will be accepted on-site on the day of the class. All other forms of payment must be made through our One Stop Shop. Attendees must allow for up to an additional half hour beyond the end of class for photos & certification card issuance. Unless otherwise stated, the class agenda will be as follows (*times are approximate*):

• 8:00am – 11:00am: Basic Dust Control Training material covered
• 11:00am – 11:30am: Basic photo identification card issuance; Basic class attendees released
• 11:00am – 12:00pm: Lunch break for Comprehensive class attendees
• 12:00pm – 2:30pm: Comprehensive Dust Control Training continued
• 2:30pm – 3:00pm: Comprehensive photo identification card issuance

Class schedule is subject to change, and classes may be added or canceled, as necessary. Class capacity is 40 attendees. Classes are also available in Spanish, and on Saturdays, at the discretion of the department and based upon demand. If you would like to be added to a waiting list for either a Saturday class or a Spanish class, please express which class you are seeking when contacting the department. When a minimum attendance is reached, you will be contacted with the class details and given the opportunity to enroll.

Just east of the building, there is a parking garage. You may park on the roof of the parking garage, on either of the two uncovered levels. Please do not park in the visitor parking spaces; these spaces are limited for 2 hour parking. There is additional on-street parking along 1st Street & Portland Street, to the north and east of the building.

Certification Applicability:

*Individuals subject to a Rule 310 Basic Dust Control Training certification, as per the chart above, shall satisfy such Basic certification requirement when in possession of a Rule 310 Comprehensive Dust Control Training certification.
