Who Must Attend:
Senate Bill 1552 requires all dust generating operations with a disturbed surface area of five acres or more and subject to a permit for the control of PM10 emissions to have a dust control coordinator on site at all times during primary dust generating operations.  The bill also outlines training requirements for site superintendents or other designated on-site representative(s) of the permit holder at sites with more than one acre of disturbed surface area.  All water truck and water pull drivers for any size site also require the training.

Qualifications:
Individuals requesting certification to provide basic training are required to show at least one year of onsite experience, demonstration of rule knowledge and familiarity of Appendix C.  Individuals requesting certification to provide comprehensive training are required to show at least two years of onsite experience, demonstration of rule knowledge including Appendix C and certification for evaluating visible emissions.  You will be required to provide proof of these requirements on the day of training.

Parking Information:
Please ensure that you are parking in the right space when you arrive for training.
Here are suggestions on where to park for those attending training classes:
Just east of the building, there is a parking garage. You may park in the parking garage in the following spaces:

  • Open parking spaces on the second level marked "Visitor"

  • Open parking spaces on any upper level facing east. These spaces will be marked "VISITOR" and the word reserved is written in black letters inside a white box.

*Note: Do not park facing west where the parking spaces say "RESERVED" with white writing inside a box with black letters (just opposite of the above). These spaces are reserved specifically for employees in the building.

  • General/open parking on the roof or uncovered levels of the parking garage
