Why Was the Business Resource Center Created?
The Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA) of 1990 have many requirements that affect small businesses. Many companies often cannot afford to hire environmental experts to interpret complex regulations or complete complex applications. Because the costs of not complying are so high, Congress required that states establish a Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP) / (BRC) to provide technical and environmental compliance support to companies employing fewer than 100 employees.
The Business Resource Center is dedicated to help small businesses with compliance with environmental regulations while promoting health, safety and environmental benefits.
Ultimately, by bringing small businesses into compliance, environmental quality and economic growth in Maricopa County will be enhanced.
What is the Business Resource Center?
The Business Resource Center is a program of the Maricopa County Air Quality Department. The primary purpose of the BRC is to assist small businesses that are or will be subject to requirements under the Federal 1990 Clean Air Act Amendment.
The BRC is committed to providing you with timely information, education, and Pollution Prevention (P-2) technologies which could be important to your environmental decision - making.
