This four day workshop will be an intense, comprehensive overview of Maricopa County Air Quality Department rules and ordinances pertaining to dust. It will also include discussion on SB 1552 requirements. There will be ample opportunity to discuss issues and concerns of the cities and towns. Air Quality Director Lawrence Odle and varoius divison heads will open the workshop.
October 26th & 27th will be classroom discussion. October 28th will be field work with each participant doing a ride-along with an inspector. October 29th will be a wrap-up and policy interpretation discussion.
This first four day workshop will be limited to 15 participants. Only one representative per city/town is recommended. Please RSVP to Frank Schinzel.

The Permit Amnesty Program gives local businesses with operations in Maricopa County the opportunity to come into immediate compliance with air quality regulations without the threat of costly enforcement penalties.
Maricopa County’s Permit Amnesty Program will be in effect September 15th through December 15th, 2009.

To help you work through the process of applying for permit amnesty, the Maricopa County Air Quality Department offers walk-in clinics at its main office 1001 North Central Avenue. Click on the link below for "more information" on all clinic dates and times.
Amnesty Limitations
• The amnesty initiative will not extend to facilities that would be regulated under Title V (major sources) or to facilities regulated under Rule 310 (dust generating operations).br
• The amnesty is for operating without a permit. Other violations, if any are found during subsequent inspections, would not be affected.br
• Past annual fees would be assessed.
• This program does not constitute a grant of immunity or amnesty in any form on behalf of any federal, state or local law enforcement authority.
