Fridays Fitness Hike- McDowell - Sonoran Trail- DIFFICULT
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- ALL Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. We build up to a longer hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. Today's hike is rated DIFFICULT. Meet at the end of Golden Eagle Blvd for this hike on the Sonoran Trail. Hike led by Kevin B.

Fitness Friday at Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
September 26 Friday 8:00 am Fitness Friday (moderate) Get your day started with a two to three mile brisk, non-interpretive walk. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to add diversity to their existing walking program. Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water.

Mix up different chemicals and discover what happens! You will observe a variety of reactions as you will be doing real chemistry! NOTE: Pre-registration is required through the Arizona Science Center. To register, please call the Arizona Science Center at (602)716-2000 ext. 229, or email campbellm@azscience.org. Arizona Science Center members: $20 for the first child and $10 for each additional child. Non-members: $30 for the first child and $10 for each additional child. On a warm summer night, scouring the desert floor, the scorpions of San Tan look for their next meal. But who are the “BIG 3” of San Tan? Learn about the facts, myths and reputation behind these mysterious creatures during a short presentation in the Visitor Center. Once you have learned all about scorpions you will be ready to meet them face to face on an exciting Scorpion Scavenger Hunt starting at 8p.m.

Know and Go Scorpion Hunt - Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
This is a fun activity for the family. Wear close toed shoes, bring your water, flashlight and if you have it a blacklight flashlight. You may also borrow a blacklight flashlight from the Ranger. Don’t worry Mom, it is a “No Touch” hunt, and we stay on the trail. Come learn about scorpions and get a close look at these creepy critters. Hunt ends by 8:30PM.

Super Scorpion Search - White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
How many scorpions can you count?...Join us on this Super Scorpion Search to find out! Bring your scorpion light or purchase one at the entrance station. Walk the Black Rock trail (short or long loop) on your own to search for scorpions, then join us around the campfire after your hunt to share your stories. You may bring your own marshmallows to roast if you wish. This great family evening event will take place at Area 4. Please wear closed-toed shoes. Please leave your dog at home.

Night Shredders - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
If you’re looking for an adventure where your trail riding abilities will be challenged, then look no further than Night Shredders. You will be riding the San Tan trails after park hours, which means it’s only the rocks, dips, and turns you’ll navigate through. Our policy, “No Rider Left Behind” means we ride together in a group for safety reasons. It is mandatory to wear a helmet and please bring plenty of water, an extra tube and 2 sources of light; LED rechargeable lights with at least 600 lumen. Why? The desert gets very dark at night. Riders under 18-years of age must complete a Parental Consent form. Hope to see you on the trail soon. Meet at the Flag Pole.

Scorpion Scavenger Hunt - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
What has 8 legs, 2 pincers, and glows under a black light? SCORPIONS! Set out on a desert exploration at night as we search for these fascinating creatures and find out just how cool these amazing arachnids really are. We will be hiking 1 mile, round trip, on the Goldmine Trail; bring plenty of water, proper hiking attire, and a black light. Black lights are available inside Visitor Center for purchase. Meet Ranger Tish at the Flagpole.
