Fridays Fitness Hike- McDowell -Trailhead Staging Area
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- ALL Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. The length of the hikes varies each week. Come prepared to hike 5-miles or more. This week's hike will begin at the Trailhead Staging Area. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. Hike led by Kevin B.

Fitness Friday at Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
September 12 Friday 8:00 am Fitness Friday (moderate) Get your day started with a two to three mile brisk, non-interpretive walk. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to add diversity to their existing walking program. Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water.

CANCELLED Nocturnal Desert Wildlife Talk - Lake Pleasant

***THIS TALK HAS BEEN CANCELLED ***Come enjoy a talk about all the critters who love to run around in the evening and during the night when you are fast asleep in your tent or camper. These will be the animals most people see around the Lake Pleasant area. The ranger will have a few coloring pages of some of these animals for the young ones as well.

All About Owls - Usery Park

What makes owls so different from other birds? Which owls live in our area? How do they survive and thrive in our desert? If you would like to know the answers to these questions, or any questions you may have about owls, then this one-hour presentation is for you! Bring your sandwich to the “Brown-Bag It” series inside our Nature Center as Ranger B shares amazing facts about these rockin’ raptors. Location: Nature Center. Watch us feed our snakes after the program at 7pm. Then join our “Animal Flashlight Walk” at 7:30pm at no extra cost!

9/11: Remembrance Ceremony - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
You are cordially invited to attend the 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony to be held at the Nathan Martens Memorial (flag pole area). Please join us as we welcome VFW Posts from around the Valley as we honor and remember the 3,000 lives that did not return home after the tragedy on 9-11. All members of our Armed Forces, past and present, and First Responders will be honored. *Opening Ceremony performed by the State Veterans of Foreign Wars begins at 7:30pm. *Folding of the flag: Meaning of each fold *Honor Guard *Taps A self guided illuminated walk for personal reflection follows. Glow sticks will be provided during Closing of the Ceremony.

Animal Flashlight Walk - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
We are the nocturnal animals of the desert and we like to hide. Help Ranger B find us if you can! If you would like to learn about us and enjoy a night walk in the desert, then join Ranger B as he takes you on this exciting 1-mile/1-hour walk along the Merkle Trail. The Merkle Trail offers universal access and the hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Please bring water, a flashlight, and closed-toe shoes. No pets, please. Location: Area 6. Join our “All About Owls” program inside our Nature Center at 6pm, and our snake feeding at 7pm at no extra cost!
