What About Water? - White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
As desert dwellers, we all know that water is a precious resource. Join Ranger Jessica in the Nature Center classroom for an interactive program about the past, present, and future of water use in the Valley of the Sun, from the prehistoric Hohokam canals to our modern water delivery system that harnesses water from hundreds of miles away to supply our growing city. The presentation and associated activities will focus on increasing awareness of water use and management in the West as well as how our actions as individuals and communities affect the world around us, today and in the future. Take home some tips about how you can help save water in your community! This program is geared towards adults and older children. **UPDATE: This program is part of the "County Parks are getting Wet 'n' Wild this Summer" promotion. After the program, we will give away a family four-pack (4 tickets to the Wet 'n' Wild Water Park - a $160 value!).
