Archery 101 b - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
Interested in archery? Why not give it a try? Participants will experience a fun and safe basic introduction to recreational and international-style target archery. Equipment is provided. This program is open to anyone ages 8 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult! Please bring water and wear closed-toe shoes. ***Advanced registration is required.*** Limited to 10 participants per session. Please e-mail Ranger Mark to register. Like to Hike - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Impress your friends! Update your status with pictures from your morning hike. Join Ranger Amy for this morning hike and see how many things there are to “like” about Estrella Park! This moderately-paced social hike will be approximately 3-miles. This will not be an interpretative hike, but we will take breaks for photos so you can “share” with your friends! Please make sure to bring a camera, plenty of water and wear appropriate footwear. Meet at the Rainbow Trailhead.

Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
August 17 Saturday 8:00 am Sonoran Desert 101 (easy) Join interpretive ranger Kevin Smith on a hike through the beautiful upland vegetation in Spur Cross. Learn about the ecology of the Sonoran desert and spend an enjoyable 2 hours of hiking slowly and enjoying nature. We encourage you to bring binoculars if you have them.

For those who have successfully completed “Archery 101”, we will open the range for some “practice” time. We will close the range promptly at 12pm. You are welcome to come and go at your leisure during the allotted time. Please be sure to bring your “Archery Card” for verification. This archery program is open to anyone ages 8 and older. Red Tailed Hawk Release! - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Wildlife experts will be releasing a juvenile Red-Tailed Hawk back into the wild after its rescue from the park earlier this spring. This is a great opportunity to see one of these magnificent animals up close and celebrate it's return to the life it was meant to lead! The release will be done from the Nature Center. Make sure to bring your camera.

Bring your sandwich to the “Brown-Bag It” series inside our Nature Center as Ranger B shares some helpful facts about the edible plants of our desert. Location: Nature Center.

San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Discover the beauty of the Sonoran Desert at night, as we hike under the light from the near full moon. Join us for a pristine 2.2-mile stroll along the Stargazer Trail. Listen for the sounds of wildlife and explore the night-life atmosphere. The pace of the hike will be relatively mild or slow to help enjoy the surroundings. Flashlights are welcomed.
