Free Family Fishing Fun Day - Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Come on out to Lake Pleasant on Arizona Game & Fish Department's Free Fishing Day (June 2nd & 9th). There is a $6 per vehicle charge to enter the park, but this day you do not need a fishing license. Follow the signs "Free Family Fishing Fun Day" to an area where the park ranger will have on loan fishing poles, and tackle. Bring some bait and enjoy fishing. On this "Free Fishing Day" you do not need a fishing license. Bring the family, a picnic, bait and some shade and enjoy the morning fishing.

Hohokam Houses - the Ruins of Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
June 9 Saturday 7:00 am Ruins of Spur Cross (moderate) Join us for this 2.5 mile hike that will introduce you to the rich archaeological history of the area. See evidence of prehistoric Hohokam dwellings and learn about their culture as we trek on up to one of their mesa-top compounds.

Archery 101 - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Interested in archery? Curious about how to shoot a bow? Come to Usery Park and find out! You will discover how fun archery really is! Participants will experience a fun and safe introduction to recreational and international-style target archery. Equipment will be provided. This class is open to anyone ages 8 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Advanced registration is required. Please call the park at 480-984-0032 to register. Limited to 20 participants. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Meet at the Archery Range.

You may be surprised at who’s lurking underground. This is an indoor program, that takes place in the Nature Center. One lucky family will win Wet 'n' Wild Tickets!

Cave Creek Regional Park
Join us for a discussion of basic techniques for staying alive in the desert. We'll discuss safety, hydration, "staying found", orienting, venomous creatures, etc. These are skills that could save your life one day. Meet at the Nature Center. NOTE: This program is part of the “County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this summer” series and we will be raffling off a family-four pack at the end of the program.

All About Black Widows - "Brown-Bag It" with Ranger B - Usery Park

How dangerous are black widow spiders? Why do they like to live around people? What should you do if you are bitten by one? How do they survive and thrive? If you would like to know the answers to these questions, or any questions you may have about black widows, then this one-hour presentation is for you! Bring your sandwich to the “Brown-Bag It” series inside our Nature Center as Ranger B shares some amazing facts about these venomous villains. Location: Nature Center.

Summer Night Ride Series - Pemberton Trail
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
This summer night mountain bike series will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. All riders must have a helmet, a lighting system designed for mountain biking and battery power for 3 hours. Riders must sign-in and sign-out, two hours are allowed to ride the Pemberton Trail. It is highly recommended that you ride this trail in day light before coming out for a night ride. The sign sheets are available at 6:30 for riders who might need extra time. NO RIDERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO START AFTER 8:00 p.m.
