Birding Adventure - San Tan

Whether you’re after Roadrunners or Ravens, Humming or Hawks, San Tan holds the key to an unforgettable birding adventure.

Little Critters Storytime with Ranger Amy - (Geared toward preschool and older children) Join us every Thursday for a themed program set around a children's book read aloud by Ranger Amy. Activities vary and may include live animals, songs, crafts, and/or puppet plays. This program takes place in our air-conditioned Visitor Center.

Drop-In Tortoise Feedings- McDowell Park Visitor Center
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Drop-in Tortoise Feedings Come meet our resident tortoises, Lily, Lady, McKenzie and Scarlett. Drop in anytime between 11 and 11:30am to help Ranger Amy feed them breakfast! Find out why you should never pick up a wild tortoise, and learn about tortoises that are looking for homes. Don’t forget your camera – our tortoises are very photogenic (and they move slowly so you can get great pictures. Meet out back of the Visitor Center.
