Like to Hike - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Impress your friends! Update your status with pictures from your morning hike. Join Ranger Amy for this morning hike and see how many things there are to “like” about Estrella Park! This moderately-paced social hike will be approximately 3-miles. This will not be an interpretative hike, but we will take breaks for photos so you can “share” with your friends! Please make sure to bring a camera, plenty of water and wear appropriate footwear. Meet at the Rainbow Trailhead.

Archery 101 - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Interested in archery? Curious about how to shoot a bow? Come to Usery Park and find out! You will discover how fun archery really is! Participants will experience a fun and safe introduction to recreational and international-style target archery. Equipment will be provided. This class is open to anyone ages 8 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Meet at the Archery Range.

Join Ranger Mark at Nature Center for a presentation about the venomous creatures you may find in the Sonoran Desert. Enjoy the beauty of these wonderful, misunderstood, and often maligned animals while learning fascinating facts and the important roles each creature plays in the desert ecosystem. As Marie Curie, French Physicist and two-time Nobel Prize recipient said “Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.” Afterwards, Ranger Mark will be feeding all the critters!

Mammals of the Southwest at White Tanks Park
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
We will address some of the myths and facts about the animals that make the Sonoran Desert their home. Learn what distinguishes a mammal from other creatures. Have you ever heard the term diphyodont? You will know what it is after the class.

Before the movie starts, be prepared for an amazing animal presentation and chance to meet the cool critters of San Tan. Bring your snacks, blankets and pillows to watch this exciting movie in style.

Sunset Over Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
June 1 Saturday 6:00 pm Sunset Over Spur Cross (easy) Come with us on a casual stroll along the Metate Trail as the sun sets over the hills of the conservation area. The twilight is a prime time to watch for wildlife and take pictures so bring some binoculars and a camera.
