Homeschool: Earth Rocks! - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Welcome to the greatest show on Earth. Propelled by intense heat simmering beneath the crust, Earth’s surface is dramatically reshaping itself in an endless, slow-motion ballet called plate tectonics. Its huge, rocky plates separate, collide, and slide past each other causing earthquakes, feeding volcanic eruptions, and raising mountains. To understand the geological processes, we must peel back the layers of the earth: Crust, mantle, and core. Open to non-homeschooled students as well. Limit 25 students. Call or email to register. Meet inside Nature Center

Edible and Useful Plants of the Desert - White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
The Sonoran Desert is home to many plants that have been used for thousands of years by people for food, medicine, and other essentials. Some of the products we consume and use even today have their origins in the desert. Join a park volunteer to learn about these fascinating plants and to try a few samples of food and drink made from them. This program will begin in the Nature Center classroom and end with a short walk to see some of the plants discussed.
