Like to Hike - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Impress your friends! Update your status with pictures from your morning hike. Join Ranger Amy for this morning hike and see how many things there are to “like” about Estrella Park! This moderately-paced social hike will be approximately 4-miles. This will not be an interpretative hike, but we will take breaks for photos so you can “share” with your friends! Please make sure to bring a camera, plenty of water and wear appropriate footwear. Meet at the Rainbow Trailhead.

Wildflower Walk - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
April 6 Saturday 8:00 am Wildflower Walk (moderate) Come and see what’s blooming in Spur Cross. This three-hour stroll along the Spur Cross and Tortuga Trails will showcase some of the wildflowers found in the park and explore the beauty of the conservation area.

"Tails on Trails" - Dog Fitness Hike (Beginners Level) - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Fit dogs are happier, healthier, and display fewer behavioral problems. Tails on Trails will provide the opportunity to meet other dog hikers, learn safe hiking practices and dog trail etiquette. The fun, 1-mile hike along the level Merkle Trail is great for beginner hiker dogs. Please bring a short non-extendable leash, a small cleanup bag, and water for you and your dog. One dog per hiker, please. After completing this hike, you and your dog will be ready for our “Experienced Level” Dog Fitness Hike! Location: Area 6.

Flower Power! - Cave Creek Regional Park

This will be a short hike to observe and photograph seasonal wildflowers! We’ve had a bit of rain over the winter so we are optimistic we’ll have a good crop of wildflowers to observe and enjoy. Meet at the Nature Center. Bring a hat, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water! And don't forget your camera!

New to the Area Hike - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Are you new to Arizona? Are you curious about cactus and scared of snakes? If so, join us for this introductory experience to the Sonoran Desert. After a brief hiking introduction, we will head out on an enjoyable 2.2mile hike on the Stargazer Trails to learn more about San Tan Mountain Regional Park and the beautiful, Sonoran Desert. Don't forget to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and appropriate hiking attire.

Join Ranger Mark at Nature Center for a presentation about the venomous creatures you may find in the Sonoran Desert. Enjoy the beauty of these wonderful, misunderstood, and often maligned animals while learning fascinating facts and the important roles each creature plays in the desert ecosystem. As Marie Curie, French Physicist and two-time Nobel Prize recipient said “Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.” Afterwards, Ranger Mark will be feeding all the critters!
