Early Bird Walk with Sonoran Audubon Society - White Tank Mtn.

Wildflower Walk - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
April 5 Saturday 8:00 am Wildflower Walk (moderate) Come and see what’s blooming in Spur Cross. This three-hour stroll along the Spur Cross and Tortuga Trails will showcase some of the wildflowers found in the park and explore the beauty of the conservation area.

"Wag ‘n’ Walk" Dog Adoption Hike - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Don’t have a dog? No problem! Maricopa County’s Animal Care & Control and Parks and Recreation Departments have united to bring you this program. You can “test drive” potential canine hiking partners to see how they behave on leash and get along with other dogs, while learning about trail etiquette and safety. Owned, friendly, leashed dogs that are at least six months old and current on their vaccinations are welcome to join this one-mile trek on our scenic, groomed, Merkle Trail. Please bring water, closed-toe shoes, and an open heart for a possible new best friend, or two. This program will be held on the first Saturday of each month, from November through April. Location: Area 6.

Become a Jr. Ranger - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Bring your kids (most suitable for ages 5-12) out to the park for this “on your own” program. Stop by the Nature Center between 9-10am to pick up the Junior Ranger Booklet. Head outside to complete the required activities and have fun! Return to the Nature Center when you’re finished to pick up the Jr. Ranger badge you earned! You can complete the activities in this program in 1-2 hours. (Please note that the Nature Center closes at 4pm).

Black Rock Archaeology Walk - White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
Join a park volunteer on this easy 1 1/2 mile trail to ancient petroglyphs. The hike will discuss early native peoples of the area and the possible meanings behind the ancient rock art symbols they left behind. Please meet at Area 4. No dogs, please.

"Just for Kids" - Little Desert Explorers - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
This 1-mile hike is designed for parents and caregivers with small children, ages 3 – 6 years. Using their senses, kids will discover lots of cool things about the plants and animals that call our desert “home.” We will explore the desert along the scenic Merkle Trail. The hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Area 6.
