Desert Wildflower Hike - meet OUTSIDE of Park - Dixie Mine Trail- McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Join Ranger Amy to identify the gorgeous desert flowers that are blooming in the desert along the Dixie Mine Trail. This trail is moderate to difficult-- please bring more water than you think you'll need, and meet at the Golden Eagle trailhead in Fountain Hills. We will park just before the Guard Gate at the end of Golden Eagle Blvd, and walk into the park. Call the Park for more detailed directions to the Trailhead.

Have you ever seen a snake eat? Bring your questions for Ranger Amy to our cool Visitor Center to watch our exhibit animals being fed. Meet our baby tortoises, desert blonde tarantula and giant desert hairy scorpion.Feeding takes place at the Visitor Center.

Volunteer Trail Maintenance! - Cave Creek Regional Park

Would you like to help us maintain the Park’s fabulous trails? We sure would appreciate it! Meet the Ranger at the Nature Center where we will briefly discuss basic trail maintenance skills. Afterwards, we will hit the trail and get to work. Please bring plenty of water, gloves, sturdy shoes, hat, and a bow rake if you have one.

Rocks and Streams Walk - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
March 2 Sunday 2:00 pm Rocks and Streams Walk (moderate) Learn about the geology and streams of the Spur Cross region on a 2-hour walk with nationally-known earth science author, Thomas McGuire. Visit an abandoned gold mine, Nutcracker Rock and a Hohokam rock art site along Cottonwood Wash. Bring water and your natural curiosity. Meet in the Spur Cross parking area.
