"Tails on Trails" - Dog Fitness Hike - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Fit dogs are happier, healthier, and display fewer behavioral problems. “Tails on Trails” will provide the opportunity to meet other dog hikers and learn safe hiking practices as well as dog trail etiquette. This fun, 1-mile hike along the level Merkle Trail is great for beginner hiker dogs. Please bring a short non-extendable leash, a small cleanup bag, and water for you and your dog. One dog per hiker, please. Location: Area 6.

You may be surprised to find that what you thought was a weed in your own backyard, is used even today in 'modern‘ pharmaceuticals! Meet at the North Trail Trailhead for this 1 ½-2 mile walking program.

Super Saguaro Walk - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Why do saguaros grow arms? Can you estimate the age of a saguaro? Can you drink water from one? If you would like to know the answers to these questions, or any questions you may have about saguaros, then this quarter-mile stroll along the scenic Desert Hawk Trail with Ranger B is for you! Please bring water and closed-toe shoes. Location: Nature Center.

Full Egg Moon Hike and live OWL Encounter - McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Join Ranger Amy and Liberty Wildlife to experience the desert “come alive” by the light of the moon at McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Liberty Wildlife will be here at the beginning of the hike (6:00-6:45pm) with LIVE OWLS to talk about these beautiful nighttime creatures. The hike, immediately following, will be 2 hours in length. Liberty will be accepting donations at this event of toilet paper, wild bird seed, and dry dog or cat food, to help them stock up for the upcoming baby bird season! Flashlights are not necessary, but permitted. Bring plenty of water and sturdy shoes. Hiking time is 2 hours, and 3 miles. No pets please. Children should be comfortable hiking 3 miles. Hikes begin at the Trailhead Staging area. Moonlit hike programs are free with $6/vehicle entry to the Park.

Full Moon Ride on a Horse- San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the San Tan Mountains as you navigate the park atop your trusty steed under the full moon light. Our professionals from MD Ranchwill guide you through the Sonoran Desert on a trail ride you will never forget. Learn about the plants and animals that call San Tan home, and grab your cowboy hat for this exciting ride through the park. Horses must be reserved ahead of time through MD Ranch at (480)331-7893. Spots are limited. Trail rides are available any time. Call to set up your own personalized horseback adventure.
