North end of the park will be closed -
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Access to the Group Areas and the North Trail will not be possible on Sunday, February 16th. We suggest the Scenic Trail, Wagner, Granite Bluff loop for hiking. The main park road will be closed at the intersection with the North Lousley Drive. Parking and access will be possible for the Lousley Hill Trail.

Flume Hike - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
Join the Ranger as we venture out on the Flume Trail. This rugged trail will take us to its namesake “Flume”. Once there the Ranger will discuss the history and purpose of the flume.

Beginning Desert Hiking - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Interested in learning how to hike in the desert? This easy hike on a level one-mile scenic trail will introduce you to the fun world of desert hiking! Park hosts, Mark and Lynn, will cover what to carry, what to wear, and how to hike safely in the desert. Location: Area 6.

Desert Edibles Walk - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
How have people survived off the land for thousands of years? Which desert plants are edible and when are they edible? If you would like to know the answers to these questions, or any questions you may have about desert edibles, then this walk is for you! Join Ranger B on this quarter-mile stroll along the Desert Hawk Trail as he shares some useful facts about our edible desert plants. Please bring water and closed-toe shoes. Location: Nature Center.
