Progressive Fitness Hike #3 - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Want to increase your fitness level and also enjoy the outdoors? Hit the trails with us for a fun way to get back in shape! During this hike series, each hike will increase in length and difficulty in order to help you prepare for the grand finale hike – the 7.5-mile loop trail around Pass Mountain! This is a great way to get in shape and to hike many different trails in Usery Park at the same time. This hike series will take place every Saturday morning through March 8. This third hike of the series will be approximately 4.5 miles. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Staging Area. Note: Participation in the 4th or 5th hike in this series is required to do the final hike. Please be aware that this series involves elevation changes, uneven terrain, and a moderate pace. Participants are expected to stay with the group.

Rock Art of Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
February 15 Saturday 9:00 am Rock Art of Spur Cross (moderate) The petroglyphs found in Spur Cross were created hundreds of years ago by the Hohokam people. Come and walk in their footsteps as we visit a few of the more impressive sites in the park during this two-hour hike. No dogs on this hike please.

Wag The Dog - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Calling all dogs. Calling all dogs. Now is the time to take your two legged friend for an upright walk. We’ll take a mellow stroll along the Goldmine trail (approximately 2 miles round trip) in the morning hours. Us dogs will enjoy the desert scent while our human companions chat about dog safety on trails and ways to beat the summer heat. Please be sure to bring plenty of water for you and your human friend. All us cool dogs must be on a leash (no more than 6 feet in length) at all times. Meet Ranger Tish at the Littleleaf Trailhead for this leisurely walk. ARF!

Explore the Clay Mine! - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
Join us for adventure as we explore the Clay Mine! Inside we’ll discuss the history of this site and learn how its contents were used to “cure what ailed ya”! Bring water, a flashlight, and your camera. No pets, please. Park at the Nature Center and follow the directions at the trailhead kiosk to the “Clay Mine”. This program is in “open house” format so you may participate at your convenience during the scheduled time frame. The last tour is at: 1:30pm.

Glowing Night Hike (Self-Guided) - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
The Sonoran Desert is a wonderful and magical place full of mystery, surprises and beauty. Enjoy a self-guided 2-mile hike (available anytime between 6 and 9 p.m.) along the Goldmine Trail to uncover the special and delicate nature within San Tan Mountain Regional Park. Take in the spectacular array of glowing red lights scattered along the trail. Allow the special sounds of Sonoran Desert birds to tickle your ears and awaken your heart. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water and proper winter hiking attire. This hike is fun for all ages. Flashlights are permitted. If 2-miles is too far for your little ones, don't worry the trail will be well lit and you will be able to turn back early if necessary.

Adult Moonlight Hike - White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
Experience White Tank in a different light - moonlight! Join park staff and volunteers on this several mile hike to watch the mmon rise and experience the desert at night. Bring a flashlight, your scorpion light, and wear comfortable footwear. No dogs, please. This hike is limited to those 16 and older. Location to be determined. Inquire at park entry station upon arrival.
