Fridays Fitness Hike – Trailhead Staging
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- ALL Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. We build up to a longer hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. This week's hike starts at the Trailhead Staging Area.

Are you up for an adventure? If so, join our new Park Ranger as she sets off to explore the park. Please plan for a moderate 4 to 5 mile hike beginning from the Rodeo Arena. This exploratory mission will focus on exploring our surroundings, so be prepared to be spontaneous! Please make sure to bring plenty of water, a snack and wear appropriate footwear. Meet at Rodeo Arena, Rainbow Trailhead.

Friday Fitness Hike - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Health and fitness go together hand and hand, but instead of being in a gym all day, head outside and take pleasure in the scenic beauty of the San Tans. Breathe in the fresh air, take in the sights and enjoy a few fitness facts along the way. On this 2.2-mile fitness hike we will be discussing the do’s and don’ts of snake safety. This program is part of a hiking series that will take place on select Friday’s each month with a new fitness facts topic for each hike.

Healthy Hiking at Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
February 15 Friday 9:00 am Healthy Hiking (moderate) Join us for a 2.5 mile / 1.5 hour aerobic walk through a portion of the Conservation Area. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to begin or add diversity to their existing walking program.

Home School Program with the Science Center: "Oh the Pressure!" - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
What can push on you, cause doors to slam, and create much of our weather? Come explore air pressure and have fun learning how it behaves! Recommended for ages 6-10, accompanied by an adult. NOTE: Pre-registration is required through the Arizona Science Center. To register, please call the Arizona Science Center at 602-716-2000 ext. 229, or email campbellm@azscience.org. Arizona Science Center members: $15 for the first parent and child and $5 for each additional child. Non-members: $20 for the first parent and child and $5 for each additional child. There is also a $6 per vehicle entry fee to enter Usery Mountain Regional Park. Location: Usery Park Nature Center.

Basics of Bird Watching - Usery Park

Interested about getting into bird watching but don’t know where to start? Want to know which bird is which and how to spot them? Join bird expert, Sandy Hornbaker, for this introduction to bird watching as she guides you on a quarter-mile stroll along our Desert Hawk Trail. Bring binoculars if you have them, otherwise, Sandy has some to loan. Please bring water and closed-toe shoes. Location: Nature Center.

Clay Mine Hike - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
Join us for adventure as we explore the Clay Mine! This will be an easy 2 mile hike (round trip). Once inside, we'll discuss the history of this mine and learn how its contents were used to "cure what ailed ya"! We'll supply the hard hats. You bring water, a flashlight, & sturdy shoes. Meet at the Nature Center parking lot and follow the signs to the mine. This is an "open house" format, so you may come and go at your convenience during the designated time slot. The mine will be closed promptly at 8pm.

Day After Valentine Luminary Walk at White Tank Park
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
Extend the Valentine spirit as we try to set a romantic mood in Area 4 and along the Black Rock Short loop for you and your valentine. This is an older participant event in that children under 15 may not find it enjoyable. We will have warm drinks (non-alchohol), a cozy fire and some romantic music.
