Skip the sleeping in, and be rewarded with some of our colorful desert species who are up early, too. No previous birding experience is required! This easy walk is along our less-than-½ mile accessible trail. Meet at Nursery Tank Trailhead.

Fridays Fitness Hike – Wagner Trailhead
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- MOST Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, most Fridays in December. We build up to a longer hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. This week's hike starts at the Wagner Trailhead, in the Campground Loop.

Find the Ranger at Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
December 14 Friday 9:00 am Find the Ranger (easy) This open-house style program features the park ranger hiking along the Metate Trail and stopping to talk with park visitors. The ranger will have some photos of desert animals as well as some old photos of the Spur Cross dude ranch from back in its heyday. The ranger will also be available to answer questions about the park, discuss park history, and help identify desert plants and animals.

Home School Program with the Science Center: "Electricity" - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Electricity – create it, experience it, and explore it! Learn what causes static electricity and observe how it can affect us in our daily lives. Recommended for ages 6-10, accompanied by an adult. NOTE: Pre-registration is required through the Arizona Science Center. To register, please call the Arizona Science Center at 602-716-2000 ext. 229, or email campbellm@azscience.org. Arizona Science Center members: $15 for the first parent and child and $5 for each additional child. Non-members: $20 for the first parent and child and $5 for each additional child. There is also a $6 per vehicle entry fee to enter Usery Mountain Regional Park. Location: Usery Park Nature Center.
