Exploring New Trails - Come Hike it with the Park Ranger! - Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Come explore this fun new trail with the ranger. Very few people know about the new trails at Lake Pleasant, and we will be hiking on one of them! From this trail we will most likely encounter wildlife, it is in a part of the park that few travel. We will meet at the North Pipeline Canyon Trailhead and Cottonwood Day Use Area. We will be hiking the new Cottonwood Trail and wash by way of the N. Pipeline Canyon Trail. Since this hike does include some wash hiking it is recommended to bring and use a hiking stick. This hike is a moderate 4 miles round trip. Wear good hiking shoes, bring water and a snack. The ranger will see you at the trailhead for a scenic adventure!

Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- ALL Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. The length of the hikes varies each week. Come prepared to hike 5-miles or more. This week's hike will begin at the 4 Peaks/Horse Staging Area. Please wear comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes & bring plenty of snacks and water. Geology Underfoot - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
If you’re familiar with names like the Superstitions, Four Peaks, and the Goldfields, your mind may conjure up images of violent geological processes that resulted in some of the most photographed places in Arizona. But what does your mind’s eye see when the names Malpais Hills or the Goldmine Mountains are mentioned? Join us on an easy 3-mile hike to see and find out what makes the geology of San Tan MRP truly special. Meet at the Goldmine Trailhead just west of the Visitor Center. Please arrive 5-minutes early. Wear closed-toed shoes, hat, and sunscreen. Bring plenty of water. No pets, please.

Home School Program: "No Bats in my Belfry!" - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Bats are truly incredible creatures! Join us as we learn about different kinds of bats and what foods each type eats and how they locate their foods! NOTE: Pre-registration is required through the Arizona Science Center. To register, please call the Arizona Science Center at (602)716-2000 ext. 229, or email campbellm@azscience.org. Arizona Science Center members: $20 for the first child and $10 for each additional child. Non-members: $30 for the first child and $10 for each additional child. There is also a $6 per vehicle entry fee to enter the park unless you have a county parks annual pass. Location: Usery Park Nature Center.

What makes ants so interesting? How do they survive and thrive? How do they help the earth? If you would like to know the answers to these questions, or any questions you may have about ants, then this one-hour presentation is for you! Join us inside our Nature Center as Ranger B shares some amazing facts about these mighty midgets. As a bonus, watch us feed our snakes after the program at 7pm. Then join our “Animal Flashlight Walk” at 7:30pm at no extra cost!

Clay Mine Adventure! - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
Join us for adventure as we explore the Clay Mine! Inside we’ll discuss the history of this site and learn how its contents were used to “cure what ailed ya”! Bring water, a flashlight, and your camera. No pets, please. Park at the Nature Center and follow the directions at the trailhead kiosk to the “Clay Mine”. This program is in “open house” format so you may participate at your convenience during the scheduled time frame. The last tour starts at: 8:30pm. Animal Flashlight Walk - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
We are the nocturnal animals of the desert and we like to hide. Help Ranger B find us if you can! If you would like to learn about us and enjoy a night walk in the desert, then join Ranger B as he takes you on this exciting 1-mile/1-hour walk along the Merkle Trail. The Merkle Trail offers universal access and the hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Please bring water, a flashlight, and closed-toe shoes. No pets, please. Location: Area 6. Join our “All About Ants” program inside our Nature Center at 6pm, and our snake feeding at 7pm at no extra cost!

Ghosts -n- Goldmines - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Many travelers, prospectors and adventurers have gone into the desert,never to return or be seen again. Others have returned with gold nuggets and treasures so rare and unique that we could only dream of being so lucky ourselves. Meanwhile, a few miners chose to live without much of anything while seeking to find that “Mother Lode.” Come out to meet the ghosts of San Tan and take a stroll back in time. Wear closed-toes shoes, a light jacket, bring water and a light. No pets, please. Arrive anytime between 7:30 –8:30pm. Last tour leaves at 8:30pm. Meet at the Goldmine Trailhead at Wagon Wheel (North entrance). Directions: From Hunt Hwy head West Empire, left at Wagon Wheel to right at Skyline, follow to parking lot.
