Exploring New Trails - Come Hike it with the Park Ranger! - Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Have you ever wanted to be one of the first to hike a trail, well here is your chance on this Thursday. Very few people know about the new trails at Lake Pleasant, and we will be hiking on one of them! From this trail we will see the lake and nice views of the park. We will meet at the South Pipeline Canyon Trailhead and Day Use Area. We will be hiking the new Yavapai Point Trail by way of S. Pipeline Canyon Trail. This hike is a moderate 4 miles round trip. Wear good hiking shoes, bring water and a snack. The ranger will see you at the trailhead for a scenic adventure!

Are you born to explore? And are you ready to “dive” into the Sonoran Desert to discover some of the great ways you can have fun at San Tan MRP? Then the Junior Ranger program might be for you. Ranger Tish will introduce to you what a Junior Ranger is and how you can have a fun-filled adventure while learning about the desert, its wildlife, plants, and history. We’ll even have some cool projects to do. There’s so much more to explore! Bring all your questions and plan to attend the Introduction program. Open to all students. Registration is required. Limit 30. Meet inside the Nature Center.

The Desert Floor - McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
This easy walk will help answer your questions about "whom or what is hiding in that hole?" We will have our eyes peeled to the ground, so let's also look at what different animal tracks look like. We will take the Tortoise Trail from the Visitor Center for this short walk. Meet at the Visitor Center. You will also have the chance to see the live animals on display in the Visitor Center before or after the program.
