Desert Wash Discovery - White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
Desert washes are critical to the well-being of the desert. They provide shelter and travel routes for desert critters of all sizes, channel storm runoff, and reveal a cutaway view of what's underground. Join Ranger Jessica and park volunteer Joe Weber on a walk through one of the larger washes in the park. There is some rock hopping and most of the walk is in sand. No dogs, please. You will be riding the San Tan trails after park hours, which means it’s only the rocks, dips, and turns you’ll navigate through. Our policy, “No Rider Left Behind” means we ride together in a group for safety reasons. It is mandatory to wear a helmet and please bring plenty of water, an extra tube and 2 sources of light; LED rechargeable lights with at least 600 lumen. Why? The desert gets very dark at night. Riders under 18-years of age must complete a Parental Consent form. Hope to see you on the trail soon. Meet at the Flag Pole.
