Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. It's a great way to meet people
and get fit! We build up to a more strenuous hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy
shoes & bring water.
Friday, 12/30- Meet at the Eagle’s Nest Trailhead, which is outside of the Park- at the end of Golden Eagle Blvd, for a hike on the beautiful Sonoran Trail. 8-10 miles. Note: this is a long hike, so bring a snack and more water than you think you'll need. |

(moderate) Join us for this fourth and final of a series of Friday walks in January which progressively get more difficult each week. This fourth walk will be a combination of the Metate and Dragonfly loops for a total of about 4.5 miles. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to add diversity to their existing walking program. Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water. |

**The Full Moon Hike will be canceled if it rains. Check back here or call the park for updates. We will make a decision by 4:30pm, Friday.**
January's full moon is the 'Full Wolf Moon'. There are no wolves in the Phoenix area, but did you know that there is a small population in Northern Arizona? We’ll listen for the howls of their smaller cousin, the coyote, on this full-moon hike, and learn about the reintroduced Mexican gray wolf in Arizona. Meet at the Trailhead Staging Area. Hike is approximately 3 miles and 2 hours. PLEASE BRING A FLASHLIGHT AS IT IS COMPLETELY OVERCAST. No pets please. Hiking time is 2 hours, 3 miles. BRING RAIN GEAR (poncho or raincoat). |

| 2 miles round trip. Walking along the lower Black Rock Long Loop Trail in the moonlight will give you a different perspective on the beauty of the Uplands Desert. We will discuss the unique changes in the desert after the sun sets. Bring a flashlight. Meet in Area 4. No dogs please. |

| Leave the kids at home, and join us on a breath taking adventure into the Sonoran Desert at night. Watch as the trails become illuminated under the light from the full moon, listen to the sounds of the wildlife at night, and feel the cool, crisp desert air as we peacefully make our way around the Stargazer loop (2.2-miles). Flashlights are encouraged. |
