Birding Adventure - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Hit the trails early to catch the masters of the sky in action. This guided 2 mile hike will take you deep into the heart of prime birding territory. Enjoy learning birding skills from our local expert. Whether you’re after Roadrunners or Ravens, Humming or Hawks, San Tan holds the key to an unforgettable birding adventure.

Rock Art of Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
January 12 Sunday 9:00 am Rock Art of Spur Cross (moderate) The petroglyphs found in Spur Cross were created hundreds of years ago by the Hohokam people. Come and walk in their footsteps as we visit a few of the more impressive sites in the park during this two-hour hike. No dogs on this hike please.

Petroglyph Hike - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
On this 1.5-mile hike, you will see evidence of a past civilization, the Hohokam. The Park Ranger will take you the areas not usually accessible to the public. The trail is easy, but there will be some climbing involved, so be prepared with appropriate footwear. Meet at the Horsehoe Trailhead.

Are you new to Arizona? Are you curious about cactus and scared of snakes? If so, join us for an introductory experience to the Sonoran Desert. After a question-and-answer session, we will take an enjoyable quarter-mile walk on our scenic Desert Hawk Trail. Please bring water and closed-toe shoes. Location: Nature Center.
