As Chase Field and the Arizona Diamondbacks prepare for the 2008 season, we celebrate as this is such a special season for all of us!  As we reminisce, we commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the opening of the Arizona Diamondbacks as well as the recognition of Chase Field after a decade of events.  This season, there are changes that are really something to be seen!  You will want to be sure to bring your friends, your family and colleagues, your neighbors and co-workers to come see the new video board that Chase Field has acquired!  

In 1998 when the first Arizona Diamondbacks game was played, the video board was new. It was huge and impressive with a sharp image and was the focus of everyone’s attention. That was then… THIS IS NOW! We now have the largest true high definition video board in major league baseball!  The board is a sight to behold measuring 136' wide and 46' high while capable of producing 4.4 trillion colors!  While no tax dollars were used to fund this project, only 1/3 of the budget was used for the board itself whereas 2/3 was used for the control room, production room and infastructure. 

Thanks to all of the parties involved in this project as the demolition, the construction and the set up of the video board, the control and the production room were all completed in less than four months.  For more details regarding the video board, click here. After 10 years of seeing the Diamondbacks on the old video board, the fans are in for a real treat! During an entire decade, there’s always something that needs upgraded and updated, but this video board was a drastic improvement and we’re so excited to have it here at our stadium with our Arizona Diamondbacks in the spotlight!

During the off-season, a new open-air lounge has been constructed seating approximately 95 people to enjoy a spectacular view of the ballpark or just be the “water cooler spot“ to meet and enjoy one of the 8 - 60“ high definition plasma TVs.  This beautifully constructed, top notch venue is approximately 1850sf and is located near third base on the suite level.  Also, the Strike Zone Lounge has been extensively renovated and brings a completely new look to it's customers.  There's also a new place for the toddlers to spend time and that's at the St. Joseph's Sandlot near the left field on the 3rd level.  Vendors have been added, suites have been modernized while the plaza has had more plants and trees planted in preparation for the light rail system.
